Spinfoam Games (2026-09-13)

A new game, Benevolence polish, more detailed results in Flux Tome, and new shapes for Moon Letters!

The past week was a busy one for both Spinfoam Games projects and my own personal blog (which hopefully has finally found a platform it’ll stay on for some time).

The first version of Engineer, a brand new 2D sorting / tidying game, was released. Benevolence got a little bit of polish, Flux Tome added support for generating detailed properties, and Moon Letters has a couple of new shapes as well as a new dots-instead-of-segments mode.

Next week is likely to be a bit slower, but I hope to get a couple of new Flux Tome generators implemented and maybe get another new project out into the wild. (It depends on how the froth particles go.)

Benevolence

  • Puzzle pieces smoothly slide when moved (finally)

  • The old fixed-size background image has been replaced by a dynamic, gently animated sky-and-clouds background that fills the browser window

You can play Benevolence for free: https://benevolence.spinfoamgames.com/

Engineer

A new release! Engineer is a 2D tidying / sorting game about putting a starship computer back together

It’s free to play online: https://engineer.spinfoamgames.com/

Flux Tome

  • Support for extra details from generators (costs, ingredients, dungeon inhabitants, etc)

  • Dungeons now include information about construction details, special features, and inhabitants

  • Sci-fi Particles now have a list of properties

  • Menu Items now have a random cost

  • Dystopian Canned Food now includes a risk rating based on how rancid it is!

Flux Tome is free to use here: https://flux-tome.spinfoamgames.com/

Moon Letters

  • Dot grid shapes now support generating segments to connect the dots in the grid; orthogonal, diagonal, and a combination of the two are supported

  • Connected dot grids can also optionally hide the underlying dots

  • Dot grids always start a sensible square shape now

  • Any shape can have its segments replaced by sets of individual dots (which can be toggled on and off as a per-segment set or individually)

  • A new starburst shape has been added that renders as rays radiating from a central point

Moon Letters is available at https://moon-letters.spinfoamgames.com/
